COMMUNITY FIRE UNIT UPDATE

We now have a total of 16 CFUs in the Helensburgh, Stanwell Tops and Stanwell Park area. These units consist of two units that were established a few years ago and 14 new units. Locations of all units can be found at www.nswfb325.addr.com.

All units have their initial allocation of equipment and are now waiting on the final delivery of protective clothing and boots.

Three additional units (two for The Ridge and an additional unit for Wilsons Creek Road) have been promised by Southern Region Superintendent, Hans Bootsma, in the next financial year.

Over 160 residents have been trained by the NSW Fire Brigade, with training continuing each quarter.

Next training days are:
• Stanwell Tops 16 March 12noon-4pm
• Helensburgh 6 April 12noon-4pm
• This training will be at your CFU post.
• Future training days are:
• Stanwell Top 15 June 12noon-4pm
• Helensburgh 20 July 12noon-4pm

For those who missed the initial training days last year and would like to become involved with the CFU in your street, another initial training session has been arranged with the NSW Fire Brigade for May.

Initial dates are 4 May at Helensburgh and 16 May at Stanwell Tops. Both sessions will be the same to allow for those who cannot attend the session in their area.
