SUNDAY SOCIAL GOLF CLUB
Well, hello there again. A good roll up for the February par event, with all starters keen to knock over the Strike it Lucky third hole. Regrettably, the hole remained unattainable and as such the cash jackpot going into the March round will stand at $66+.
We welcomed back an old familiar face in February with the return of Gary Kuster. It was nice to see your smiling face and watch you carve up the course like days of old.
Winners for the event were: first place, with a +5 round, was the ever-bubbly Jan Howe. Jan was presented with a De Longhi cappuccino maker for her very convincing win. Second (on a count back) with an even par score was Big Dave Green, who won for himself a Maglite. Tony Gersback, also with an even par score, took up third place and picked up a golf cooler carry bag.
Well it had to happen, the Eagles Nest has finally gone off and the lucky golfer to score the booty was none other than my putter is bigger than yours Pete Sullivan. Well done Uncle Pete, you should have enough golf balls now to last the season out as well as some new friends looking to get their hands on some of those balls.
The longest drive awards were taken out by Jumbo and Tony with drive and pitch prizes won by Big Dave Green and Tony (back again) Gersback. NTP prizes went to Pete putter Sullivan (who bagged a couple) and Gary Kuster.
A heads up award goes out to Kerry Gardner. Poor Kerry, he must have hit every tree on the course during his round. Its almost as if the trees went out of their way to get in his way. In any case, he now has a bag full of smiling golf balls and KG branded into the trail of barkless trees he left behind. But, there is always next month...
Speaking of which ... the game planned for 6 April will be Ambrose (pending numbers). Tee time is 8am.
New members are always welcome - why not bring a friend for a hit and giggle, we can guarantee youll have a fun time. Hope to see YOU on the first tee soon. Happy hitting.
