A 58-year old Helensburgh man evaded police for two days before being captured on the night of Saturday 22 March, in Sawan Street, Helensburgh.
The man was involved in a domestic dispute on Thursday and fled into bushland after he allegedly abducted his de facto wife, who later escaped. The man received a gunshot wound to his arm and while it was not known how the man was shot, police confirmed that they were not involved in the shooting. The man is now recovering in Wollongong Hospital.
