Can you imagine an event where teams of four must complete 100km together, on foot, through rugged bush terrain, day and night, in under 48 hours? Well, thats what Oxfam Trailwalker is all about. Four local gentlemen have decided to take up the challenge in what will no doubt prove to be the most physically and mentally exhausting event they have encountered.
Nathan Box Face Shoemark, Murray The Little Morrison, Luke Whiskas Pepping and James Bonehead Baker have combined to enter the team Facethelittlewhiskasbone.
The event is held from 16 to 18 May and its main purpose, besides the individual/team challenge, is to raise funds for Community Aid Abroad. All funds raised go toward the alleviation of poverty through funding development projects in over 30 countries around the world and in indigenous Australia.
So, if anyone would like to support the fundraising efforts of this Helensburgh contingent, any donations would be gratefully accepted. All donations over $2 are fully tax deductable, and an official receipt will be issued. James Baker can be contacted on 42942919 or Murray Morrisson on 42942909 or, if you see any of them down the main street, dont run away - theyll have their receipt books with them!
