NEWS FROM OTFORD SCHOOL
Camp Quality Family Camps: Hi my name is Emily. I am nine. My parents and I run family camps for children with cancer.
A few weekends ago we held one. The mobile zoo from Taronga Zoo was coming and so were three special people: Sara, Shae and Dan from Saturday Disney. They were going to interview me. The zoo had just arrived and so had the Disney team. We sat next to a lorikeet in its cage and Sara interviewed me. After the interview we went to for lunch and my friends Dan, Sara and I sat at the table together and ate meat pies. As they left, we said goodbye and had our photo taken.
The next morning we got up and did crafts such as plaster moulds, sun catchers and lots of other fun things. Then it came to lunch time and everyone had to go home... by Emily Mitchell
My week at Berry camp: From 12 May to 16 May, Years 4/5/6 went on a camp to Berry, along with a school called Regentville.
Monday ... 4/5/6 all met at the fire station at 8.45am to catch the bus to Berry. When we got there, before we had lunch, we had an orientation around the camp. After lunch we went canoeing. I was in a boat with Eddie and we played lots of games while we were canoeing. We then had dinner which was nice. Soon after we went to bed. I was in cabin number 2 with Alex, Charlie and Marcus.
Tuesday
The following morning the weather was terrible so we couldnt do what we had planned, so all we did was play games with Trevor and Pat by having tabloids. After, some people went into the spa and others went to the slip and slide. Afterwards we had dinner and then we had the concert night. My cabin did doctor, doctor and water, water.
Wednesday
The next morning the weather was still not good but we did the cable glide and it was muddy, very muddy. After lunch we said goodbye to Regentville. Fencing was our next activity (that was fun too). I lost against Tas so I had to sing Im a Little Teapot at dinner time. We played mud footy which was muddy. Then bed.
Thursday
The next morning we had breakfast and then we did the ropes (I was with Tas). Bike riding was next. We went through the deepest puddle ever and when we got back it was nearly time for dinner. Soon after dinner we had a disco and we learnt a variety of dances. Amy and some of the other girls wanted to bake cookies so guess what we did the next day? Yep, youre right, we baked cookies.
Friday
. We had breakfast and played archery. I hit the bullseye and came 1st. I got an interview with the principal and I felt proud. Afterwards we had lunch and then unfortunately we had to go home. I got all of the staffs names. It was all pure fun, thumbs up... by Jake Connor Year 4
