Newspaper extends deadline for donations Only two submissions from organisations seeking financial assistance from the Helensburgh & District News were received by 14 October and the editorial team has therefore decided to extend the deadline. It is understood the definition of eligibility for the two $2000 donations was not clear: by not-for-profit organisations we mean sporting groups, guides and scouts, bushcare groups, environmental groups, voluntary associations etc. Any organisation which contributes to the community in some way is invited to submit an application for funding in what will become an annual donation from the Helensburgh & District News. In your submission for funding, please state how the money would be spent for community benefit as well as previous fund-raising efforts. Please address your submission to the Helensburgh & District News, PO Box 248, Helensburgh, NSW 2508, or drop it into the HDN boxes listed at left. Submissions must be received by 14 December and the successful applicants will be announced in the February edition of the newsletter.
