HDN announces donations
A learning support teacher and a community activist are the successful recipients of the Helensburgh & District News’ second annual community grants.
Helensburgh Public School’s Merle McPherson said she was “so excited” to be receiving the $1000 grant which she would put towards reading and software resources for the students in Years 3 and 4 in need of remedial assistance.
Northern Illawarra Online director and this newsletter’s production manager Scott Smith has been awarded the other $1000 grant which will go towards the cost of producing and erecting a heritage Welcome sign at Temple Road, as well as a large community sign at the Parkes Street entrance to Helensburgh.
The latter will replace the ad hoc signs of sporting and community groups under one banner, yet still accommodate updates such as “Next Game” and “Congratulations to...”
They will receive $1000 each to pursue their projects.
