For Goodness Sake
With Deanne Ashford

It’s cozzie time. Again. If you are worried about wobbling on the beach – relax. Buy a pair of boardies and enjoy your summer. Match your boardies with a rashie (aka sun top - sooo yesterday) and you can run (after the kids), swim (after the kids) and stay melanoma free.
If the truth be known, no one but you really cares what you look like in cozzies - unless you look spectacular, then we don’t want to be seen near you. If you were happy until you took a sober, well-lit look at yourself wearing tally-ho-sized bits of lycra, then adopt the covered and happy-to-be-me approach and enjoy summer. If what you see annoys you and you are considering losing all that chubs…fast, here are some ideas that may help:
• There are few things in life that we have complete control over. What we put into our mouths is one of them.
• Be very selective with what you use to fuel your body, only the best will do.
• Treat yourself to the freshest, sun-kissed produce summer has to offer, rather than eating manhandled (who touched this?) processed rubbish that can survive a nuclear holocaust.
• Feed yourself as you would feed a child. Sit down. Eat slowly. Don’t skip meals.
• Try to avoid the all or nothing approach in relation to diet and exercise over the festive season. You do have to eat before Christmas day. Chocolate does have calories, even though it is Christmas (eve/morning/lunch/dinner).
Good health to you. Deanne
