Helensburgh Bowling Club Social Golf Club

First of all, a warm welcome to our new members who started this month. It was good to see a few old faces return to the course.
The event on 5 June - a Stableford/Survival team event - was held at the Illawarra Country Golf Club.
The Survival event was very interesting with teams having to return to the clubhouse with their match ball. One team had a lucky round with the particular “pink ball” finding the water on three occasions and the team frantically searching thick scrub on another occasion but still managing to return to the club with “that” ball. Out of the nine teams only three lost their ball. Never seen so many players looking for a ball!
Winning the team event, no surprise, were the big hitters, Tim Baker, Brian Kane, Andrew Carter and Mick Richards. The Stableford event was won by Mick Richards, with Brian Kane 2nd and the “ever consistent” Dave Green on 3rd.
Great prizes for the day with CD stereo player, clock radio and MP3 players won.
