Fall will not ground glider
Injured hang-glider Mark Grenfell plans to be back flying in a few months after an “awkward landing” left him with a broken wrist.
The Otford flier clipped a shrub coming into land at Stanwell Park beach on 24 April, spinning his glider around.
“I was about eight to 10 feet from the ground and it just nosed down,” said Mark.
Although internal injuries were initially suspected, he came away from the accident with just a plaster cast on his wrist and memories of a helicopter ride to hospital.
“I’m more embarrassed than anything,” Mark said.
