Helensburgh Bowling Club Social Golf Club

First of all, a warm welcome to our new members who started this month. It was good to see more lady members joining the club. Thank you for supporting the Club.
Last month’s event on 1 May was held at the Illawarra Country Golf Club. It was again a pleasant Autumn’s day. The event for the day was 4BBBB (pairs) Stableford.
Everyone must be enjoying their golf with another great turn up of 33 starters.
With the pairings, it was going to be a tight result and about 10 pairs had only a few points separating them!
The winning team was Sid Fredrickson and Travis Chipperfield; second Jason Kaplun and Lance Delehunt; and third Rob Carter and Tony Gersback. All received great prizes of Westfield shopping vouchers.
A BBQ was held at the course after the event and it was enjoyed by all. It was good to see Robyn Doherty at the course to present the “Joe Doherty Cup” to Dave Green.
We would also like to thank Chris Hendry for helping us out on the day. Thanks to the committee for organising the food and refreshments.
Big thanks to Peter Doak of Porters for his support of the day. This was well received.
Congratulations to Rob Carter on the birth of his new baby.
With the bowling club up for sale, we will still continue to function as a social golf club. We are a strong social club and will continue this club for many years.
We do all our own funding raising, and are in a sound financial position, thanks to our dedicated committee.
All those keen (and not so keen) golfers, including those newcomers to the ‘Burgh who wish to play golf in a friendly, social atmosphere, come along and join us. We play the first Sunday of each month.
We are all ages from 18 to over 80, so come and join in! We play the local golf courses, Boomerang and Illawarra. Great prizes and great fun. Any inquires, please contact Tony on 4294 2696.
