Coalcliff Nippers

The NSW State Titles were held at Umina Beach on the Central Coast from 25-27 February with more than 4000 nippers from 83 different surf clubs competing. Coalcliff SLSC had 21 children competing and came home with five individual state medals:
U13 Samantha Hammond 1st Flags/1st Sprint; U12 Brett Doran 3rd Flags/3rd Sprint; U13 Jade Offord 3rd Sprint.
Samantha has now won 11 state medals in six years and Brett six state medals in five years with Jade winning her first state medal.
Well done to all children who competed.
Helensburgh Women’s Bowling club
We have experienced wonderful Autum weather for our Tuesday bowls during March and early April.
Tuesday, 15 March: one round of the annual Major Singles. Winner: T. Thomson.
Tuesday, 22 March: One round of Minor Singles. Winner: R.Sargeant.
Queen of the Green for March was S. Cassidy. On this day we held our monthly meeting discussing finances and especially making preparations for our 50th birthday celebrations to be held on 24 May.
29 March: Two rounds of the annual Major Singles. Winners: R.Sargeant, S.Cassidy.
5 April: Weatherwise, with rain threatening, our ladies did manage to play social bowls.
12 April: A cool and overcast day, we competed for the annual Jacqui Jackson Trophy. Winners were V.West and B.Gallagher; runners-up, L.Bartlem and C.Dixon.
