School sweethearts to tie the knot

Annette and Tony Wilcox along with Jan and Steve Fuller would like to announce the engagement of Leanne Wilcox and Daniel Fuller.

Leanne from Helensburgh and Danny from Stanwell Tops have lived in the area all their lives. They both attended Helensburgh Public School and were in the same Year 4-5 composite class. They also both went to Bulli High School and started going out together when they were in Years 9-10.

In March 2004 they decided to venture on a backpacking trip overseas. They started off in Thailand, then went to Egypt and then London where they have made their base for the past 18 months.

During this time, Leanne has worked as a receptionist at the British Museum in London and an IT company while Danny has worked at the Queen’s garden parties at Buckingham Palace and as an extra in a movie.

They have also travelled all over Europe to destinations including the Ice Hotel in Sweden, Oktoberfest in Germany and the Anzac Service in Gallipoli. While in Spain, Danny ran with the bulls in Pamplona and they both took part in the recent tomato festival where they were interviewed on Spanish television.

It was on one of these European trips, on an August evening in Venice while cruising down the Grand Canal in a gondola passing under the Rialto Bridge, that Danny proposed to Leanne.

They still have a bit of travelling left to do – Athens, the Greek Island, Jordan and six-week tour of Africa before returning home to Australia just in time for Christmas.

Both families wish them a safe journey home and every happiness for their future life.
